财富、成功和爱

Wealth，Success and Love
A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in
her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said,"I don't think I know you, but you must
be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."
一位妇人从家里出来，看到三位白胡子老人坐在她家前院里。她认不出他们是谁。她说：
“我想我不认识你们，但是你们一定饿了，快请进来吃点东西吧。”
Is the man of the house home?" they asked.
" No," she said." He's out."
"Then we cannot come in," they replied.
“房子的主人在家吗？”他们问道。
“不在。” 她说，“他出去了。”
“那我们不能进去。”他们回答道。
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.
"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"
The woman went out and invited the men in.
晚上，她丈夫回家以后，她把发生的事情告诉了他。
“去告诉他们我回来了，邀请他们到家里来。”
于是妇女出去邀请三位老人进屋。
"We do not go into a house together," they replied.
"Why is that?" she wanted to know.

“我们不能一起进入一个房子，”他们说。
“这是为什么？”她想知道。
其中一位老人解释道：“他的名字叫财富。”他指着其中一位朋友说，然后又指着另一朋
友说：“他叫成功，而我叫爱。”他补充说：“你现在进屋跟你丈夫商量一下，你们想请我们
中的哪一个到你家做客？”
The woman went in and told her husband what the old man had said. Her husband was
overjoyed.
"How nice!" he said." Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill
our home with wealth!"
His wife disagreed. " My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
妇女进屋告诉丈夫老人对她说的话，丈夫喜出望外。
“太好了，”他说，“既然这样的话，我们就邀请财富吧，让他进来，把我们的房子装满
财富!”
他的妻子不同意：“亲爱的，我们为什么不邀请成功呢?”
Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in
with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled
with love!"
他们的儿媳妇在屋子的另一头听到他们的谈话，她急忙跳进来建议道：“邀请爱进来不是
更好吗? 我们的家将会充满爱。”
"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and
invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the three old men, " Who is Love? Please come in and
be our guest."
“我们听儿媳的建议，” 丈夫对妻子说：“出去邀请爱请作为我们的客人吧。”
这位妇人出去问三位老人：“谁是爱? 请进来作我们的客人吧。”
Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and
followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: " I on
you coming in?"
爱站起来开始向房子走去。另外两位老人也站起身来跟在他后面。女主人很吃惊地问财富
和成功：“我只邀请了爱，你们为什么要跟进来？”
The old men replied together:" If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us
would have stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever he goes, we go with him.
Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!"
两位老人一起答道：“如果你只邀请财富或者成功，我们中的另外两个只能待在外面，但
是你邀请了爱，无论他走到哪儿，我们都会跟着。因为哪里有爱，哪里就有财富和成功。”
